Dear members,

after going to Mèze (France) since 2009, we gave up, as the space there is always more restricted. The place was perfect for a long time, and I take this opportunity to thank the team of YC Mèze once again.

CHAMPIONNAT A-CAT, 18 – 20 OCTOBRE 2019 – CNB, BEVAIX

Für das grosse Schweizer Saisonfinale sind 18 A-Cats aus der Schweiz und mit Vladislav ein A-Cat aus Tschechien in die aktuelle Schweizer Hochburg der A-Catamarane an den Neuenburgersee gekommen.

Die Prognose war etwas durchwachsen, das westliche Ufer am See hat sich aber wie schon in der Vergangenheit auch heuer tendenziell besser präsentiert als die Vorhersage.

Report on Campione and Arco 2019.

Just came back from Campione (A-Cat Trofeo) from 28-29 September and then Arco (German Nationals) from 4-6 October. Our italians friends are always good to provide good weather, wind and food, this week in Garda was again an opportunity to have everyone smiling after the races.

On the road to Campione, our friend Alex decided to explode a trailer tire while driving on the highway... luckily on the right side and having a spare wheel he was soon again chasing us towards Campione.

Only a handful of Classic-A-Cat sailors have found their way to the South of England, the place where Olympic-sailors fought for the medals in 2012. This was quite disappointing for the guys on the starting line of the UK- and Worldchampionships. But the warmly reception, the perfect organization on land, top-professional race committee on the water and fair winds and weather conditions compensated them more than expected. With 18 races (6 UK-CS and 12 W-CS) held in the bay and the harbour of Weymouth, it was an amazing event.

Pas d’entrainement, pas de résultat (qui l’eut cru !) Le niveau était super haut, on vole au près comme au portant.

Ça va vite au portant (29 knots pour Mischa), profond et tout droit. Beaucoup de recettes différentes me semble-t-il quant à la position du rail, de la rotation et du cunningham, mais dans ce que j’entends les réglages au portant ne sont pas très différents de ceux du près. On vole aussi dans les petits airs avec foils et safrans réglables, très tôt.

a few of us are going to Garda from Friday 27.9 until Sunday 6.10. First Campione (A-Cat Trofeo) then Arco (German Nationals), for the two regatta. Feel free to join us and get some sane wind, warm water, no jellyfish, good food :-)

Robin avait bien vu ça dès mardi soir : des conditions parfaites pour naviguer le week-end entier ! Il invite tous les membres SACA à venir s'entrainer à Bevaix durant le week-end. Dix participants ont répondu à l'appel.

De splendides navigations déjà le vendredi en fin d'après-midi dans de l'Ouest agrémenté de Joran. Le samedi et le dimanche seront du même cru, avec quelques baignades incontrôlées et de petits dégâts ici et là. En résumé 3 jours de plaisir sur nos belles montures !
