Worlds 2022 - no starting, but good shooting

Today again a big front coming through the boat park with gusts at 30+ knts. The committee quickly decided that it made no sense to wait and as soon as AP/A was hoisted, masts were put to rest at their horizontal positions by their owners before the storm passed by.

I then attended the USACA board meeting as a guest, and was pleased by the engagement of its members. It looks like everyone wants to use their cool GPS widgets and it seems like USA is going to initiate yet another attempt to drop this obsolete rule that has been nagging us since I can remember. SACA tried in 2014, then other national associations in the following years, sometimes very close to the desired 2/3 majority, but never passing this magic threshold.

So it was 12h30, and after a sandwich, how were we going to spend the rest of the day in the pool... but no, oh yes it's Texas so let's pull our guns and go for a shooting session ! Murphy, the host of Manuel and Gordon instructed how to secure and discharge the hand guns and let's go for the shooting range. We tried diverse guns and yes it was good fun to try to identify the best shooter between newbies and guys having pulled the trigger before. I had not shoot since 1993 when defending Switzerland somewhere in the Emmental, so it was like jumping back 30 years or so.

Tomorrow last day of racing with winds in the low range. Hopefully I can put my deep Landy sail in good usage !
