Worlds 2022 - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Tuesday 3rd, the Classics waited a long time to water the boats, as the Open fleet were doing 3 races in a row, so we had to time to breakfast, lunch, etc... and then let's go party again. The wind was strong, my 1st race was almost perfect, with a good start, good speed, and a 3rd place at the end. Then came the bad with a trapeze off-hooking on the start, followed by a capsize 20 meters after passing the line, and my 4rth Cunningham breakage in 5 days of sailing... the race was a struggle to tame the boat, ending up 11. At the end I was called for post-race measurement, followed by a Cunningham reconstruction - this time Swiss-Made so it will survive the elements. End of work at 8pm, add two burgers and beers to close the day.

The Classics went out first on Wednesday, as for the switching schedule. I got a bad start blocked by multiple boats boats, and the wind was stronger than the day before, impossible to tame the boat, she was jumping all over, side-kicks, under-water bows during upwinds, etc.

Downwind I tried going trapeezing but seeing Andy AUS 300 doing a pitch-pole in front of me, I quickly decided it's not the time to have an accident and went back to the relative safety of my trampoline. The wind was really strong, added to the crazy waves, I was happy to not break anything and be safe. Being safe is not the right way with these boats, so I ended up with 11 and 12 for today. Coming on shore, AP/A was up again so the Open got no race either, the wind was over the limit and the sea state too unsafe for them.

And the ugly ??? They are called Nachos, it's some tasteless chips, full of fat, covered by melted cheese. Welcome to Texas my friends :-)
