The British A Class National Championships 2014 are taking place on Friday 26th to Sunday 28th September at Rutland Sailing Club in the English East Midlands.
It offers some of the best inland sailing in the UK and is about 2.5hrs easy drive from Harwich ferry port. There is cheap accommodation onsite in the club bunkhouse, or at the good local Bed & Breakfast places. Otherwise, right across the road from the club entrance, within easy crawling distance, is a camping field.
The club itself is one of the largest in the UK and has a large bar and catering facilities.
There will be a series of 9 races over the 3 days of the championships. On the Friday evening, the club has a steak night and on the Saturday we are holding a special carvery meal (Roast Beef - obviously!) to which everyone is invited.
The area itself has some superb walks and countryside. A full lap of Rutland Water is 27km and there is a cycletrack/path for the whole distance. The pretty nearby old country towns of Oakham and Uppingham have picturesque market squares and many local shops etc. The local villages also feature good pubs with good local food available in nearly all of them.
We would love to see some of you here in England and you will be guaranteed a friendly British welcome! Contrary to what you may have heard, we do not have poisonous food and the beer is not always warm!
You can register online
See you there!!
